SP2 and auto-update

theres a lot of material to look through here so i apologize if this is a
re-post

but if SP2 is 200+ megs, and auto-update is on, does that mean its going to
download the enitre thing? or are they going to break it up?
 
I have DSL and today was MY day to get SP@. It started around 2PM today and
I was finished installing it at 3:30PM.. So far not one problem... Auto
Update did it all in one session
 
SP2 is 270MB or so. If you are following Auto Update, Windows will analyze
what all you need to install rather than full 270 MB. It has built in
intelligence for saving the state incase network failure or download stopped
for some reason. it will pick up from where the download failed.

If you want to verify your PC is setup correctly for auto updates, you can
follow instructions from
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/protect/windowsxp/updates.aspx

Or, Let the wizard from website do it for you.

Alternatively you could download the full install from following link and
install it yourself. Please note the full install download is approx 270 MB
large so for slow connection it would long time

And if you wasn't sat in front of the comp would it/did it download with out
you knowing it.??

I'm still waiting for it to download. or as it come without me knowing it,
just that when I click "help" .. "about internet explorer" at the top of
browser page it tells me the version number is 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.

Have I got it ??

Go to start..run and type winver..it should say something like..
version5.1 (build 2600.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158: Service Pack 2) if you have
it.
 
I still have the new windows updater, but still have sp1... ah well when it
comes it comes
