I though I had caught the SASSER virus. I had downloaded
the fixes from MS but nothing would cure the problem
(instant reboot) So I reformatted the winxp drive :( and
reloaded xp. all ok. now try to load sp1 and the problem
returns (instant reboot) undo sp1 and all ok! I want to
fix this so when SP2 comes around I can update. Any Ideas
as to why it reboots only with SP1 installed, The load
sequence is (1) Load XP Corporate, test ok, run the fixes
and scans, no virus etc.. found, (2) load sp1, exhibits
all the symptoms of a sasser virus with instant reboots.
(3) Unload SP1 all ok

Help!

"XP Corporate" = pirated version of XP = no chance of loading SP1a or SP2

Legitimate version of XP allows SP1a and SP2 (soon to be available)

Answer to your question: buy a legitimate copy of XP..

Bob;
"XP Corporate"?
There is no such thing.
There is however Volume License
If that is what you have, you need to contact your business IT
department.
