Why do I have a Sp2 under

HKey-Local_machine->Software->Microsoft->updates->windows xp->.

I am getting ready to push out the Xp rollup1 and will use the above key
with SP1 to dettermine if the workstation can have rollup1 or not. If
no sp1, no rollup1 until sp1 is installed.

Is the sp2 the same as rollup1?

Thank you.

When hotfixes are released, they are relased with the name of the service
pack that they will feature in. That is, a hotfix released after SP1 was
set in stone will be part of SP2.

SP2 is not the same as the rollup.

Regards

Oli

Hi

That is not the correct place to check if you have SP1 installed really.

You should check
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\CSDVersion

for the value data "Service Pack 1"

The vbscript code in the link below includes a function GetSPNumberSW that will
give you service pack level on NT4/Win2k/WinXP/Win2k3.
