I purchased XP Professional before SP1 was included in
the program. I had to partition my 160GB hard drive to
the max allowed .. 131GB. I have now downloaded SP1
(which will handle larger partitions)to my system and
would like to use the complete 160GB drive in one
partition. There does not seem to be an easy way to do
this. Can anyone advise.

Thanks

Gene

diskpart from the recovery console may be up to the job - but make sure all
your data is safely backed up before you play. Delete the unwanted partition
then extend the C: drive to the rest of the disk. I think / hope that
extending is the one thing you can do without losing data.

If you are prepared to spend some money PartitionMagic has a good
reputation, and is well able to do what you want and more.

You will need to purchase something like Partition Magic to do this.
XP does not have any built in utilities which will do what you want to
do.

This might be the right time to consider the wisdom of splitting your HD
space into several less bulky partition. IMHO, using only one partition
is looking for trouble since it means you are putting all your eggs in
the same basket...But it is a free world and you perhaps have a very
safe backup setup ...
