SP 3 will not install

hey ,
i've tried to install sp3 , four times and
get " updates not installed "
error # 0x8000405 .
anyone have a clue ?

Try in clean boot mode. It could be software running in the background.

thanks Colin , what i did was disable " everything
in avast free edition , located in " troubleshooting " .
this avast is a busy little bugger !
