SP-2 uninstall catastrophe

I was uninstalling Service Pack 2 through the add/remove programs tab. It
was going along fine, but during the last step, I lost power long enough for
the computer to reboot. The thing is about fried. Does anyone know how I
can fix this? I have tried uninstalling SP2 again to complete it, doesn't
work, tried reinstalling SP2 to fox it, doesn't work. Anything on the
computer that might be helpful doesn't work, i.e. Windows Update (manually
via the web or using the icon) System Restore, etc. I have access to the
web, but when I go to Windows Update, I just get a blank screen. Odd. Can
anyone please help me? Thank you so much!!!

if "the thing is about fried" you need to think about replacing your computer, not installing SP 2.

Hopefully the data on your hard disk was not damaged. Put your hard disk into another computer as a slave disk and copy all your important files and folders.

Thanks so much for your response.

The thing is about fried due to the SP2 catastrophe. It was fine before.
Don't ask why I was uninstalling it because I just don't have a smart answer.
:-( I have lost my XP disk otherwise I would just reinstall it and I think
that would solve the problem. I was hoping for an alternative being that I
can access the web, but not any of the Windows support features... I think
it's still quite salvageable though, at least I hope.

Thanks again!!!
