I have SUS running on my domain and ran into a problem
with one of my XP machines. It haults do to an
application using or a file open called NWPROVAU.DLL.
I shut all applications down, I also shut down all
services, and started in safe mode with no success.

These are the errors that I am getting

Source Application Management
Event ID: 108
Failed to apply changes to software installation
settings. Software changes could not be applied. A
previous log entry with details should exist. The error
was : The installation source for this product is not
available. Verify that the source exists and that you
can access it.

The Group Policy client-side extension Software
Installation failed to execute. Please look for any
errors reported earlier by that extension.

Nwprovau.dll is a dynamic link library which will be installed when you
install NWLINK IPX/SPX protocol.
If you do not use NWLINK then remove the protocol from your network. The DLL
will remain in /System32.

Thank you, and I will look into this, but I really do not
think I have that protocol installed. I will keep all
posted.
