Sounds

My Windows XP based computer will play sounds from my media
player (CD,Downloaded music), but when I want to play the
windows games that have sound I can't hear sounds. If i
want to play systems sound I get the erro that my sound
card may be in use, but its not.

My device manger shows no conflick and device is working
properly...

Any clues out there for what to try????
