Sound through Headphones problem

I am still plugging into the headphone jack on the front
of the computer, and it is as if the computer doesn't know
it. Any advice?

If you've got a Dell PC, there is a headphone jack behind the bottom flap on the front of your PC. Headphone jacks on CD-Roms do not work on some PCs that have their output lines redirected to other jacks.
