Sound stop working

My speakers are powered up, but I am getting no sound coming out (almost like they are on mute). They do not appear to be receiving the data from PC OR a mute button is on somewhere.

Anybody have any ideas

Why is it that people whine before trying the obvious?! Download the latest
driver from the card manufacturer!
 
Try using system restore to a time where sound was working . Jym

How do you know he hasn't already? Please try to be a bit more pleasant when
helping people
