Sound problems

I've upgraded from Windows 98 to XP Professional, and
everything is working fine apart from the sound - which
isn't working at all. The sound card is supported for XP
and I've been through all the steps in the sound
troubleshooter - still no joy. I've also upgraded the
driver. Any suggestions as to how I can restore sound?
