Sound Problems

Hi having problems with my sound every so often my sound keeps goin really
crakly and dont go until i turn off pc and unplug it all once i turn it bck
on again sounds fine any ideas pls?

im on windows vista premium edition
 
Its the sound card driver along with the nice DRM technology vista has ....

tell us your sound card or onboard sound card make,
along with the version of driver you are using.

you are talking about all sounds or just mp3's?

Happens with all sound onboard sound card driver is c-media cm6501.
The sounds starts to crackle and screech no matter what im doin so i turn
off pc unplug all the leads then plug em all bck in again and sounds goes bck
to normal again:)
