I upgraded from Windows98se to Win2000 after the upgrade, I lost the sound. I'm using the speakers that are on the Viewsonic monitor and they worked on Win98Se. I downloaded the Win2000 drivers from Viewsonic but I still do not have any sound. Has any one else experienced this

Are you sure it's the speakers and not the sound card?
Try plugging a headset directly into the speaker output on the sound card...
If that doesn't give you any sound, then you should be looking for updated
sound card drivers.

AFAIK, Viewsonic does not provide the drivers for the sound cards that
might be installed in different makes of computers. The sound drivers still
need to come from the maker of the sound cards. But, also take note that
there is an on/off switch for the built-in speakers of the Viewsonic monitor.
It might be an actual switch on the monitor bezel or in the on-screen menu.
RTFM for more information.

Check your sound card drivers that is what controls the sounds
