Hi everyone...
Maybe someone can help with this. I've already run through the Windows XP
Home sound troubleshooter, and have gotten no answers. I'm working on a P2,
950 MHz, and have just upgraded from Windows ME to Windows XP Home. Sound
was working fine before the install. Now it looks like it's trying to play
the sound, but I cannot hear it. I've checked all the cables, and the
system is connected correctly. I've downloaded the new driver from Creative
Labs (SoundBlaster 16 PCI sound card), but that still doesn't work. Would
this be a BIOS error like the troubleshooter says, even though the card is
not on the motherboard? I'm thinking about deleting the hardware listing
and having it locate it again when I restart the computer, but will this
work? If it didn't work before, would it work now? Any ideas on how to
help with this would be much appreciated... I'm under a little bit of time
pressure on this.
