The sound on my computer echos, its hard to understand anything. Someone in the archives mentioned turning off the sound effects, but under control panel and audio/sounds I havent been able to find anything at all for "sound effects". Just volume controls, properties, options, etc. but nothing about "effects"
Thank you
Karen

does your computer have a microphone and is it anywhere near the speakers.
make sure it is muted.

What type of sound card do you have? If it's a soundblaster, open up Audio
HQ, click on EAX control panel, turn audio effects off.

Hi, it says the audio device is SiS 7018
Oh and yes I have a microphone, but if I mute the microphone, does that mean that I wont be able to use it for a live chat program like netmeeting or yahoo?
I'll try finding where to mute the microphone to see if that works though. thank you

Thanks to those that tried to help, unfortunatly I dont have Sound Blaster, I have SiS but I DID however
find how to fix it and turn off the "echo" effect.
