sound driver is warped

TO whom ever can help... I am having difficulities
watching DVD's through windows media player as the
soundcard is warped and frames and volume skips on random
DVD's....I have windows xp it came with the computer.
When I went to the trouble-shooting program on my
computer it sugested getting a new sound driver?!? what
is that and will I have to pay for it ?

I am frustrated with this re-occuring problem please
help!!

A driver is software that tell the hardware how to interact with the operating
system. You will need to know the sound card's model number and manufacturer.
Visit the manufacturers site, and you can find drivers for FREE. Use the system
control panel/Device Manager to see what kind of card you have. If you need
