hi my son wanted to speak using the microphone on our windows xp but now the
sound cannot be found so we can hear music for games or cd can anyone help

Check Device Manager > sound, video and game controllers if all OK, go to
Control Panel > Sounds,Speech & Audio Devices Properties > Sounds, Audio &
Voice Tabs, make sure your sound card is the default device in all tabs.
