I have Outlook 2002 and OS is XP. All my sounds work
except the new mail sound. All the settings in outlook
appear to be correctly set to play a sound when new items
arrive. The control panel sounds and audio devices volume
control is on mid to high... Please help!

Do you have the new mail notification sound enabled in Control Panel?

Yes, the 'New mail Notification' has a working sound
selected. Funny too, this is the only sound that I am
aware of does not work.

I have the same problem too. I have done ALL the
Knowledge Base items and all the checkbox settings and
even went to the registry editor and it even
shows "WindowsXPNotify" but the sound will not play. I
just get the "beep" from the computer speaker. It is
driving me crazy that I can't fix this!! I posted this a
few days ago...Help me too!!

I have the same problem. All updates and installed and
check boxes checked. Even went to the registry and it
show "WindowsXP Notify" as the default under
the"mailbeep" key. I get the beep from the PC speaker.
All other sounds work fine. Help...

Anyone figure this out yet? VERY annoying problem.

I even looked in the registry to see if the correct sound was listed
as default, and it was.
