Holy Moley! Nuff said! For those with ooomph enough to download the
whole thing .. you got a surprise coming. Fundamentally based on
Open Office (they said), this download doesn't seem anything LIKE Open
Office .. it's vastly superior.

There is a better link:

http://www.sotlinux.org/en/lbaoffice/download.php

You can download the Windows distribution very quickly. The link you give
offers a download of over 600 meg, according to my computer! Apparently,
according to what I've read, this is the whole thing, including the Linux
distribution and lots of other irrelevant stuff.

Earlier releases SOT Office 2003

LBA Office and OpenOffice.org.

LBA Office is based on the Open Source OpenOffice.org project, and
offers all the features of the OpenOffice.org application.

In addition, LBA Office includes a number of fixes and enhancements over
OpenOffice.org. These additional features include:

* Compatibility with WordPerfect documents
* Windows shortcuts implementation
* Internationalization improvements:
o Help text available in Finnish and Russian
o Spellcheck, Thesarurus and Hyphenation support for Finnish and
Russian.

Windows

LBA Office R2 for Windows is included as extra software on the LBA-Linux
R2 installation DVD. If you don't want to download the entire DVD, use
the links below to download LBA Office for Windows separately:

Thanks, I'm downloading it now. For people without big pipes to the
Internet or don't feel like downloading a 650MB ISO, you can try this
instead:
ftp://ftp.sot.com/sotoffice-2003/SOTO_2003/windows/soto_en.zip

Thanks, that download is a reasonable 63 meg.. The question
is, how will it compare with the upcoming release of OS.Org

I am currently in the process of removing OO from my pc. LBA Office has many
enhancements and I think is better than OO... so far :o)

It doesn't really matter which one you use.... It's a win-win situation IMHO :)
