opens in the mid-sized state, even after I close them from maximized. It
forces me to click on every maximize button every time any window opens. Is
there a registry entry I can change so that all windows, in IE6 as well as
while running any other apps, will always open in the maximized state?

If you right click on most of shortcuts, then click propeties, you have the
option to change whether the Window opens normally, Maximised or Minimised,
however for some icons, like Internet Explorer this will take you to Internet
Options.

In Roberts Family had this to say:

My reply is at the bottom of your sent message:

Don't click maximize.

Open IE, resize it using the mouse in the upper left and lower right and
dragging it to full size. Close it, open it again, it should open that same
size, and any other application that has resizable windows should work in
the same way. For new windows with IE you'll want to do the same thing. So
for those open IE, click and open a page on that page in a new window, and
then follow the above.
