I'm compiling a rather lengthy bibliography. When I sort by paragraph I lose my line spacing and even though the list is alphabetized there is no spacing between entries. How can I sort bibliographic references and keep the two line space between each entry?

Sounds like you created the space by using pressing the Enter key twice.
That's the way that it had to be done on a typewriter. In all versions of
Word since version 1.0 for DOS, the way to do it has been to define the
paragraph format so that it had either space before or after it.

Instead of hitting enter twice between entries, you should modify the style
that the bibliography is typed to in have Space After each paragraph. With
the cursor in an entry, click Format | Style. The style in use should
already be selected. Click Modify and in the Format... Dropdown menu at the
bottom of the next dialog, select Paragraph.

Best practice would probably be to create a Bibliography style, which
includes space after and the hanging indent (if you are using that). After
creating a style, you can run a find and replace by style to convert the
existing text.
