Sorting the "From" column

I have always been able to click on a senders name and the click on
"From" and Outlook would show me all of the emails from this person.
Now suddenly this morning it does not work: It sorts all of my email by
sender by brings me up to the top of the list.
How can I get it to automatically take to emails from THAT sender
again?

No one could possibly answer your question. We have no idea to what version
and view of Outlook you are referring.
The function you appear to be asking about is normally perfomed in the
Activities Tab of the Contact record.
