sorting mail

I belong to a couple of Yahoo groups which send mail to me directly so I can
read it in Outlook.

I would like to set up separate folders to control all mail to and from each
group. With available settings and filters this seems somewhat complicated.
I would like to keep the original, forwards, and replies in folders for that
group.
What I see is that the best is a copy option which leaves 2 messages, one in
the wanted folder and one in the sent items. The third copy which will come
into the inbox could be moved to yet another folder or deleted. This would
probably be so for forwarded messages since it doesn't say where it will
save a copy. Replies should be OK with "save replies with original message"
checked. Does it have to be this difficult?
I'm open to ideas.

Also will have to wait on this post and other replies because it appears MS
News is down.

If you disable the "Save copies of messages in Sent Items folder", then only
one copy, in the folder where you move it, will be retained.

Brian, I hope you see this. There seems to be a problem with some of your
posts, at least in connection with me. So far it has only happened with your
posts. When I choose to reply to group from one of your messages, and after
composing choose to send, I receive and error message about not being able
to .
The newsgroup 'this group' could not be resolved.
Followed by,
The message could not be sent. You must specify one or more newsgroups to
post to.

Concerning your reply, which I'm unable to respond to because of the error.

That is fine for the intended group filter/folder, but then I'd have to
create another rule for all other sent messages. Is that easy to do?

I see it, obviously. I can't explain why you would experience this with
just my posts, but I'm using Outlook Express as the newsreader, just like
you, and no one else have ever reported an issue with replying to my posts.
There are certainly no references to "this group" in the headers of my
posts.

Sure. You make a rule that applies to all messages and make sure it comes
after the rules for the other folders.
