I'm a newbie at pivot tables. Does anyone know how to
sort a pivot table on two columns, not just one. I'm able
to sort on one using the "Sort and Top 10" function, but I
can't seem to sort on two columns. Thanks!

You can do the sort in two steps. Sort the less important column first,
then sort the primary column. Excel will retain as much of the first
sort as possible.

Hi,

Best way to do this is to hide the detail on the second
column and then sort. You have to select the second
column so that the data is highlighted, then right click
on the highlighted data and hit 'Group and Outline' and
then hit 'Hide Detail'. After that you can sort on any
column. I have no idea why this works but it does. When
you're done sorting, unhide the second column again if you
want it displayed (you probably do). This is done by
manually selecting the data in the second column again and
selecting 'Unhide' instead of 'Hide'.

Good luck.
