Sort email folder by date ascending - auto-select last message?

I might be in the minority on this, but I sort my mail folders so that the
newest message appears at the bottom. The problem is that, while Outlook 2003
remembered my preference and always selected the newest message when I moved
to a different folder, Outlook 2007 selects the first, or oldest, message.

Is there a way to change this behavior?

I'm having the same problem. I have two "Inboxs", one for my POP mail and
one for Hotmail stuff. When I open Outlook the pop "Inbox" is always sorted
correctly with newest messages at the bottom, but when I select my Hotmail
inbox often it will auto-select and display a message from 2005 instead of
showing the newest message first. Very annoying. I've tried everything I
can think of and it just won't go. Probably a bug, anyone having similar
problems?
