Hello! :-)
so, i dont understand the way to create el torito cd.

I follow help file sequence but..
Why create 2 iso images ??
What is the role of ETPREP, i dont unterstand how its
running.

Its not possible to launch directly hard disk runtime
with his FBA sequence ?? And in next reboot edit the
registry and put "EWF enable" and finally create the
ISO ??
(Im using EWF PATCH from slobodan with no needable FBA
partition)

Thks a lot, the english doc about torito is obscur for me!

Hi Ahmed,

1. You need to have one El-torito CD present in your device during the FBA,
so XPe can load and initialize required El-torito driver to certain disk-id
(4 bytes you written to CD, leave default value 'ELTO').

2. You need to run FBA on C: volume. You can use separate disk for this
purpose or you can use
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/embedded/community/tips/xp/runtimepartition
..asp

3. After FBA is completed, you need to modify some registry entries.
- Enable EWF.
- Swap drive letters so CD becomes C: in next boot.
- Mark two drivers described in etprep doc to start at system boot time.
You can use etprep for some parts of this process, or you can use regedit to
make all registry adjustments.
For partial commands read:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/xpehelp/htm
l/cdtbsetprepusage.asp

4. Also there are some problems with tools for preparing cd image, so you
will need to create sdi virtual disk, that will have only one bootable fat
partition.
Then you should copy post FBA data to this virtual partition.
And then you will use tools for creating el-torito disk on this new disk and
partition.

Make sure that EWF protects partition 1, no matter if it is C: or some other
letter. When you boot from CD partition 1 will be C:.

Also you should search in last two months for more info on El-Torito.

I was thinking to write complete how-to create El-torito using some advanced
techniques, but I don't know how many people need this.

Regards,
Slobodan
