soo many problems with Xp home edition,don't know what to do!!!HELP!!

I have Windows Xp home edition..I have noticed some problems #1 all my Xp themes are missing and place with windows 95 or 98 themes,so now it looks like windows 95/98 version..and I can't seem to change anything.#3 having problems shutting down computer ..it eventually shuts down after 20 mins ..and I am recieving errors IEXPLORER.exe and so forth.
I have scanned my computer and it did find a virus called W32Welchia.B and i was able to get rid of it.(I think
but when my anti virus scans it says they have found a virus called w32/Nachi.B .I downloaded the removal tool for this and it says they didn't find the virus..but it keeps popping up on my screen!!! can someone please help m

To stop these viruses from attacking your system you need to be up to date
on the windows updates. Go to

windowsupdate.microsoft.com and have the website scan your machine for
necessary updates. Then install all of the necessary security updates.
This should stop many of the viruses that you are having troubles with. I'd
also recommend that you purchase an anti-virus software.

Thanks Thayn .I have done the Microsoft update.and most of the problems went away...although I still can't get my Themes back,the original ones..But I am going to reinstall Xp soon and see what happenes .
