Sony 500A DVD RW

I have just added a Sony 500A DVD RW drive to my Windows
2K computer.
The drive is shown in Safe Mode but does not appear in
Normal Mode. It is also correctly identified in the BIOS.

I have searched for new hardware but it is not found.

Any Ideas?

Because that was the only forum that was available. Pity
people didn't reply with sensible answers but that appears
to be the environment we live in. Full of persons with
sub standard intelligence.
