SOMEONE HELP ME!!! please?

Can anyone from ms or anywhere help me out.My computer has
some kind of problem with a missing file, it flashes up
frequently. It wasn't happening that much at first
although now it's like every 2 min I get 2 pop ups from
windows with the following text:
"c;\hp\register\pitedog\.dat" I don't know what it
means.Please someone help me I can't do anything without
this screen popping up all the time,it's really quite
annoying.

don't deal with home user systems here.
