Our company bouht a dozen of new boxes for upgrade and expansion this year. And I decided finally to switch ower to XP for workstations (previously I set up all the new hardware as 2000). Thus my domain now consists of NT4 domain controllers, some NT4 workstations, a lot of 2000 workstations and now some XP workstations. Around 60 in total
ALL WORKS FINE! Excepting only SOME of recently added XP boxes doesn't show up on domain browse. Joining to domain was performed flawlessly, and the machine account within domain was also created automaticaly. I am able to access them by typing in \\machinename directly, however when I open ServerManager (SRVMGR) on DC I see those machines as "inactive" (like those switched-off at the moment), BUT surprisingly am able to open them from the manager
I guess the problem is somewhere around master-browser of the domain, and it's (in-)ability to (correctly) update entire domain model... But where, how, what
P.S. I have tried to launch 'Synchronise entire domain' several times, but it haven't help me much..
Please help me if you can.
