I Upgraded from windows 98SE to XP Pro (Non OEM Copy). Now
while installin I didn't upgrade and said I'll upgrade
later. As install began it was alrite then after it
restarted my comp and again was installin in DOS then it
said setup was unable to copy some files. I dont remember
which ones but there were quite a few and also some DLL's
so I kept doing SKIP on all. Now my OS is workin fine but
will the absence of a few files get it into some problem.
If so how do I correct it now. Do I have to reinstall it
again I cannot FORMAT my drive coz I've got a lot of
impotant data. Pls suggest something. Will Repair install
correct the problem?

Backup and THEN format.

If you can't do that then you shouldn't have tried an upgrade in the first
place.

Microsoft upgrades rarely work 100%.
