I have a problem that I have not been able to resolve and
hope someone might know the answer here. Recently some
programs do not open, mostly ones that are in the system
tray, but not necessarily. I click on the icon and it
does nothing at all. Some programs icons in the system
tray that wont work I can get to run if I go directly to
the exe on the HD. After a reboot everything works fine
but after about 20 min this starts to happen. I have an
up to date virus scanner running all the time, I have
also checked for spyware. I also notice that when I try
to open up an application and it does not open it does
show as running in the task manager. I'm stumped!! Any
ideas??

Your question almost answered your problem
Your icons/shortcuts paths or targets are either incorrect or corrupt
Delete the icons only for the programs that will not activate
Go like you did before, to the EXE file of the program, rightclick i
and create NEW icons to correct the proper path.

Thanks for the response, but if the links were corrupt I
would think it would try to search for the exe. Also it
does work for about 15 after a reboot, and also it shows
as running in task manager even though the program does
not seem to open. Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Joe
