after spending many hours of trying out tips on many of the threads on this
discussion group, I finally solved my "can't accesss network" message
encountered on one network computer by re-setting the network type in my
TrendMicro Internet Security program firewall on the computer I couldn't get
access to. apparently you have to set the network type to "office" from
"home" despite the fact that I am working with a home network. This I did
ater reading the "known issues" section of the TrendMicro readme file. The
lesson learned is, if you have a network setup problem, first make sure all
of your firewall settings are right, or disabled, before anything else. good
luck to all.

Thank you for the tip.

Don't send e-mail or reply to me except you need consulting services. Posting on MS newsgroup will benefit all readers and you may get more help.
