Is there any third-party software which allows me to access XP's Even
Viewer logs and do searches and sorts and that sort of thing.

Thank you for any information.

You dont need 3rd party software for that, simply open control-panel,
administration.event viewer,R.click on it,create a shortcut,then select in
the sub-menu (with it still highlited),move this file, move to my documents.
This way you can view w/o opening control-panel.

Wes, I think I did not explain my needs properly. I find the Event
Viewer in the XP Consoles not to be sufficient for what I need.

For example, I want to be able to search through the message text for
specific application programs and see what entries in the application
event log they have given rise to.

I was hoping there might be a third-party utility which might allow
me this sort of facility.

Atthe moment I have to export a CSV file and view it in Excel. But
Excel's text searching and listing is not very good.

Franklin,

Whether you explained it properly or not, I didn't understand.

I don't know of any 3rd party program.

Just Clear All Events in Application, Security and System logs every day,
then you have less to look through.

Do you suffer from that many errors that you need to automate looking
through them?
