Software Installation

In the past month or so, Whenever I attempt to install a new software
program(Microsoft or other)(Download or CD) it take 3 minutes or so to begin
the installation. While it's making up its mind to install most everything
else is disabled. How can I remedy this issue? WinSP Pro SP2 and all sorts
of other stuff.

Disable your AV program just before you start the install.
