Software does not work after recovering from NTBACKUP FIle

Hi,

I did full backup in windows 2000 system.
After the harddrive crasedh, I recovered the data from the backup file.
First I reinstalled the operating system, then recovered.
Unfortunatelty, nothing works except the windows.
All software complains about missing DLL files.

Is there something I did wrong?
How should I perform the backup, so I can recover everything back.

What did you restore? Windows itself, and all your apps? Sounds like you
really want more of a "disk clone" app like Acronis TrueImage or Ghost. Is
this a server, or Win2k Pro? I've never tried a 'bare metal restore' using
that.
 
Did you back up and restore System State along with your hard drive(s)? For
