Hello Windows XP Generals,
I installed some windows updates recently, including everything needed
to enable ink in msn. After doing so, Windows has decided to log me off
my account after some inactivity. The time-out is quite short, so it's
bee ninconvenient to come back from preparing vegetables and stirfry or
releasing it on the other end to have to type my password again to
enter the system.
This is not the same as the hard log offthat used ot occur when I would
go to the start menu and shut down, log off. That would close all
programs. In my case, the programs are still running, so the logon
screen shows:
My Icon, how many programs I have running, and how many messages I
have. I use my regular password and am able to log on and pick up where
I left off. All in all I like this feature, but I do wish to set the
timeout to 1 hour or so. How can I do this? If I can't do the self
timer setting, how can I disable it? Please note, I want to distinguish
this between hibernate and hard log off. It is not hibernate as all my
programs actively run while the logon screen is sitting there. Thank
you for your help.
