Sockets de Troie on XP--Network cable is unplugged

I'm pretty sure I have Sockets de Troie on my XP machine, but I cannot find info on the Web on an XP variant. Can someone here help

I remember enabling my ZoneAlarms firewall to allow a program that said it "lacked setup32.dll" and needed it. This is apparently what this sockets trojan does when it installs itself. However, it has changed its "M-O" and I can't find its files to disable it

XP symptom: I can sometimes get to one or two pages on the Web, then I get disconnected from my LAN connection and the message reads "Network cable is unplugged" constantly. I have checked all connections, cables, NICs, etc., and the problem is not a hardware problem
