kencrilly

we are trying to disable or uninstall the NWLINK Netbios protocol that
gets installed when IPX/SPX installs as part of the Novell Client.

We are using both snetcfg and netset to re-establish our preferred
network settings after sysprep on windows xp sp2 systems (since sysprep
resets so many settings now).

when we try to use snetcfg -v -u MS_NWNB or snetcfg -v -c p -u MS_NWNB
it says it uninstalls, but when you look at the network properties
dialog box it is still present and active (both with a restart and
without one)???

any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

As long as "Client Service for Netware" is installed, you will not be
able to uninstall the NWLink NetBIOS protocol, take a look in the
network properties GUI, when selecting that protocol, you will see that
the Uninstall button is disabled (grayed out).

Your only option is to disable the protocol, and I do not know about
any way to do that with a script (snetcfg.exe is install/uninstall
only).
