Running Windows XP Home Edition with SP1. Started to
get "Snapshot Scheduler has encountered an error and needs
to close" error. Occurs on boot up. How do I fix? Thanks.

Snapshot Scheduler is, AFAIK, not part of Windows XP. You probably have
some sort of third-party software running at boot, perhaps something
that came bundled with your computer if you have an OEM machine. You
need to see what is starting with Windows by going to Start>Run and
typing "msconfig" without the quotes. Look on the Startup tab for the
probably culprit. You can then continue your Sherlocking with the
application's tech support.

Good luck,

Malke
