Snapserver inaccessibility

A couple of our XP2 users cannot access our Snapserver 1100. According to
our IT dept., the Adaptec fix doesn't apply & I can't find a fix from
Microsoft even though it seems to be related to security patch KB885250. Our
IT department will not roll the patch back so that isn't an option. Any
ideas?
 
I just uninstalled the KB885250 and it made no difference to my system.

The only thing I could do was to do a system restore on my computer. It is
now working well.

Here is another "fix" you may want to forward onto your IT dept.
 
Actually, it seems as though you're link also addresses KB885250. If you
click on it, it takes you to a page which talks about Security Bulletin
MS05-011. That bulletin covers security patch KB885250. Am I missing
something?
 
That link said that they have a hotfix for the KB885250 problem, but you have
to contact them to get it.

Since you can not take off the KB885250, your only solution may be to get
the new hotfix to fix the KB885250 hotfix.
 
Sorry for the confusion. I actually had already showed our IT dept. this
link but they said it wasn't a viable solution.

Did you get it to work? Are you planning on reinstalling the security patch
and then obtaining the hotfix in order to test it?
 
At this point, I am going to "let things be". This is a very busy time for us
and I can not have in inaccessible snap drive.

I will try to use the hotfix when things settle down on one computer and go
from there.

I will keep you updated so you can pass along the information.
