Hi,

Have windows XP and Outlook 2003 installed. Does Outlook handle e-mail
differently from Outlook Express? Have set up all the info for the
POP3 and SMTP servers. but using Outlook I can logon and download
e-mail but cannot send any e-mail even though the settings used are
identical to that used on a Win98 machine with OE which sends and
receives OK on the wireless part of the network (through the same
router, ADSL modem etc.). Even test sending an e-mail brings up an
error message along the lines that the SMTP server name etc is
incorrect.

Any help much appreciated

regards
Graham

Can you try sending a message (not with "Test Account") and post the exact
text of the error message?

I would tend to believe this error message.

Hi,

Must have spent hours trying to get Outlook to send messages to
various account the other night. Went to do what you suggested
and well, I'm still picking myself off the floor. Sent e-mails no
problem without altering anything at all. Very strange.

Must have tied itself into a knot until I just turned on the box.

Thanks anyway

regards
Graham
