Please help me

I have laptop that I'd like to secure using a smartcard.
1. MS states I need a hotfix to get the option under
security. I can't find the patch. Can you help?

2. What type of card do I need. thanks
 
1. Open XP's "Help and Support" program.
2. In the Search box type: Smart Card , and hit enter.
3. Click on "Log on to a computer with a smart card".
