smaller music files

What program is recommended for decent size music files? I mean, a song
that is in WAV and is, say 1 MB, should not become 15 MB.

From wav To mp3.
I think that is what you mean. ?.

I also use wma files from time to time. They can work out well
depending n the compression rate you use.

The problem is that WMA files can only be played on Windows.
