I want to save ppt pages as jpegs and use it for the web at 700 pixels wide
72 dpi but the the 6pt type required is too pixelized. How can I fix without
upsizing the type?

What version of PowerPoint?

And how are you saving the images so far?

Keep in mind that JPGs aren't generally the best format to use with type.
Depending on your slides, GIF or PNG may be better choices.
It's worth giving them a try.

But saving a 10" slide to 700 pixels gives you roughly 1 pixel per point, and
since 6 point type is a bit less than 6 points high, that only gives you 5 or 6
pixels high per character - not enough to do a very good job of rendering type.

Your best bet will probably be to save the images at much higher resolution
then use something like Photoshop or the free Irfanview (www.irfanview.com) to
downsample them to the final size you need. The results will generally be much
smoother looking.
