I'm running a Fujitsu 3010N notebook with windows XP Home. Been working
great for two years and today suddenly my screen was covered with small
rectangles. The screen is still useable with difficulty and at times the
rectangles disappear and everything is OK. Is this a sign that my ATI video
board is going bad? I don't know if this is enough information or not. Any
help is appreciated. Thanks

Could be software (driver or application program), could
be hardware, could be a virus or pest of some kind . . .
so check for viruses and spyware and HOPE you find
something - they're removable.

I'd guess that the LCD panel has a problem but you'll need
to have a professional look at it to fix (replace) that.

Try an external monitor if possible - if it looks OK then
the video card is probably OK.

Good Luck !

Well, with desktops yes, a generally sure sign that the video card has
gone bad. With laptops I'm not that sure, tho I'd surely check that your
fan(s) in back are working as it _may_ be overheating that _may_ be
causing the video chip to fail intermittently.
