Chris

I have Windows XP Home Edition and my small icons are
missing from the Folder bar. I have found the Microsoft
Knowledge Base
article ( http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?
scid=kb;en-us;307028 ) which
explains that this is a result of not having a C: drive
(my hard drive is F:) and that you can use the "subst"
command to fix this. The problems is you have to do
this every time you start your computer unless you add the
command to a startup or
logon script, as the article suggests. I have found
several other forums
discussing this topic, but have yet to find out how to
actually do this. So, if
anyone knows about this and can detail the procedure for
creating a startup or logon
script to run this "subst" command, it would be much
appreciated! Thanks.

Hi Chris,

The article procedure is wrong. Adaptation for the Article: Needs to be a
path not a drive letter, so subst c: [x]:\. Note backslash converts a drive
letter to a path. It must point to a valid folder as in: c: d:\Windows
