Hello:

In a SBS 4.5 environment you had a primary domain
controller. You could setup a backup domain controller
also. Is something similar possible in a SBS 2K
environment?

Yes, you can have aditional DC's in SBS 2k domain.

I can not speak to the possiblity in SBS 4.5 but in
SBS2000 you can have multiple Domain Controllers.
However, there is a stipulation that the SBS2000 DC *MUST*
hold all five of the FSMO Roles....

You might want to take a spin over to the SBS NG for
verification, though. They would really know this stuff
inside and out. I have several clients who use SBS2000
but there has never been [ nor will there! ;-( ] of a
second server of any sort!
