Slow XP startup...

HELP!!

My XP crawls when it is logged in. I have already enabled pre-fetch etc...
and added tweaked settings.

It is also with the latest Service Paks. Any hints appreciated...

You do not want to disable it. See the reply to your other post.

Use MSConfig to disable unwanted startup items. Then tweak the services
Click Start | Run | MSConfig |Startup - for startup applications
Services.msc - for tweaking the services

my XP has 768 MB RAM DDR, 60 GB HDD, 12 HDD Free running on 1.6 GHz
processor.
Internet is ok once the programs startup and load on the system tray. during
this time, it takes approx 2 minutes.
It wasn't like this. I once tweaked the settings ok and it loaded fast. Then
my HDD crashed and I reloaded the image from backup and then the startup is
slow....
Is there any system settings I overlooked ??
