slow to connect

I have Windows XP and connected to a cable modem. When I
first start my computer it takes 5 to 10 minutes to
connect to anything on my desktop:Outlook Express,
Internet Exployer, or anything. Why.

Their is no one answer to your question.. make sure you have run disk
cleanup, scan for virus', scan for spyware, and make sure you have all
windows updates.
